Almost a year before, Gutenberg block editor was merged into the WordPress core in the mist of controversies. In spite of very loud & vocal opposition from agency associated developer community members, it has been well received most user community. Since change is always uneasy for most of us, its especially difficult when the product is in active development in open with messy sausage making. Nevertheless my experience so far is very positive.
The next phase of Gutenberg editor development to expand beyond the content area and into other parts of the site has just announced by its lead developer Matias Ventura. Unlike the previous Gutenberg block editor controversies, Matias detailed post Defining Content–Block Areas received excitement and positive reviews from WordPress community members.
Lets keep watching its next phase of development in open!
