WordPress 5.0 “Bebo” is Released

WordPress 5.0 “Bebo” is released to-day (Dec 6) despite loud criticism from some vocal developers and agency groups. Since its a major release, develops are taking extreme care even after its release.

WordPress 5.0 Beta 1 was released on October 24.  I downloaded and setup a new test-site. In my initial evaluation, it throw error while saving file or opening a existing file for edit. I had got few plugins running on the site as well. It could be because of one of those plugins.

Beta 3 Test

WordPress 5.0 Beta 3 was released to-day (Nov 5). I decided to take time to test it again. This time around I started with few basic official WordPress plugins (WordPress Importer, wp super cacheRegenerate Thumbnails) without  third party plugins. After one by evaluation I found that most plugins that I use in my sites working as expected.

One of the plugin Organic Profile Block by Organic Themes that I was evaluating was the problem. After plugin deactivation, everything works as expected.

RC 2 Release

WordPress 5.0 RC2 is released yesterday (Nov 30) with more improvements, test feed backs.  Its release date has not been announced but depend upon testing feed backs.

Twenty Nineteen Theme

I am also evaluating Twenty Nineteen theme, which is getting better too. Overall I really like its minimalist design with headless appearance. However, I am going wait until its final release and customize it for my personal use. Some show case examples include:
